The above video is a brief training lesson about the master 8 fold form. It is designed to contain all the basic strikes, movements, and blocks taught in the Kenpo Budokan Karate system.
It consists of 8 sections, starting off with blocks, strikes, kicks, movements, and finishes with motion and motions with actions, and finishes with the Bagua 4 post exercise. However, when practicing, it is designed to be done in continuous succession. If you think of a musical octave: C-D-E-F-G-A-B and ends on C with C being at a higher octave than the previous C. In the same manner, your C (or your block sets) should be the same as you go around the form – each time improving your skill and technique. The idea is that as you practice the motions, you become better, and thus your original C (the one you started with at the beginning of a Master 8 Fold form session) has been improved by the time you finish the sets.
When you are ready to complete the sets, the last section – the 4 post exercise, is designed to clear your mind, and allow you to focus on what you worked on during the Master 8 Fold Form session.
